Success Skills Coach Jim Rohrbach

Welcome to Da Coach's Corner for February 2012!

The purpose is to inform, inspire and have a little fun along the way.

Email me back your news: Success stories, changes, hot tips, etc.

Success Stories  Here are a few of my clients' success stories, which is what it's all about for me:  CL is making a return after a few years' absence to help him get back on top.  PH has begun by working on the confidence game.  JL is off to a fast start, learning that listening is the key to influence.  BK is reading Jack Canfield's The Success Principles to reinforce ideas we've covered.  DO is starting to apply his Consultative Interview skills, working out in the Mind Gym.  BF is getting back to the networking bit.  JG continues to focus on his great new FA opportunity.  MB has his referral machine rolling.  DM had her best commission month ever.  CD knows he has to play like Eli Manning to achieve his goals.  TP continues to bring in more assets in the new year -- Is it any wonder why I love this coaching game?

Article  Steve Jobs:  The Do and Don't Lessions of an Insanely Great Wizard  I recommeded the authorized biography below, but here are some takeaways you might find instructive.  (For all of my articles, click here.)

What's New?  Happy (Mild) Winter!  We made it halfway through January before Old Man Winter flipped on the Arctic Express cold air switch for a bit, but the month went out like a lamb.  This is still the warmest and least snowy winter in years here -- I remain a big fan of Global Warming ...

Da Bearz made big news (no, not the Super Bowl) --  they got a new General Manager, Phil Emery.  (Nope -- I never heard of him either.)  I hope he's the one to get the right pieces in place for 2012.  I wouldn't mind if they took the entire U of Alabama defense in the draft.

Da Bullz have an impressive record so far but Coach T needs to limit the playing time of the starters so they're healthy for the playoffs.   And the Cubs continue housecleaning.  Big Z is gone, now part of the "Oz-Brano" duo in Miami -- wonder how long before they're breaking bats over each other's head?  In the meantime, with their "de-stocked" roster, 20 games under .500 might look good by July on the North Side ...

Healing thoughts  If you would be so kind, please take a moment to send healing thoughts to individuals you know who have serious health challenges as I do daily to others who need it.  Thank you -- every positive thought helps.

Book Recommendations  You may know that my learning goal each year is reading/listening to a combination of 60 books and audio programs -- pretty good for a guy who graduated number 154 out of 240 at Von Steuben High School in Chicago with a 1.74 GPA, huh? (God Bless the 86 that finished below me ...) Here's some of the good ones I read recently:

Steve Jobs  The insanely great genius behind Apple's insanely great products.  I'm a Mac Head, and am awed by the man who once said, "People don't know what they want until I show them."  And show us he did, God rest him.  Whether you loved him or loathed him (as many did), this is a must read for anyone who wants to know how Steve Jobs changed our world.

No Excuses  The True Story of a Congenital Amputee Who Became a Champion in Wrestling and in Life  Read Kyle Maynard's amazing story, then ask yourself, "What the heck is MY excuse???"

The Mackay MBA of Selling in the Real World  More hard-earned wisdom and wit from Harvey Mackay, who's still swimming with the sharks after all these years.

Little Voice Mastery  Is that little voice inside your head putting you down?  Let Blair Singer teach you how to shut it up for good.

Tangled Up In Tunes  How 300 Nights with Bob Dylan and Jerry Garcia Changed My Life   If you've ever been on a road trip to follow the Grateful Dead and/or Bob Dylan, you'll love this rollicking road-warrior memoir.

Audio Program Recommendation  Now you can get a FREE weekly Nightingale-Conant podcast -- such a deal! You'll hear world class speakers like Earl Nightingale, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn and Tony Robbins share their wisdom in every episode.  Click here to download an app ($3.99 one-time charge) that can send it to your favorite device.  To order Nightingale-Conant audio programs, click here.

Financial Advisors  I am always interested in getting introduced to FA's or Branch Managers. Click here for a link to www.Horsesmouth.com -- all the info you'll need to succeed as an FA.  And for all you investors out there who would like to know more about market timing, here's  one of the Top Ten Market Timers in the World who stole my name -- Jim Rohrbach!  (Or did I steal HIS name?)

Free Consultation  Here's a link to my web site www.SuccessSkills.com-- on my home page I offer a Free Consultation to determine if it makes sense for us to work together, or not.

Referrals  As most of you know, my coaching business is referral based. A big "thank you" to all who referred your colleagues to me -- that's the best compliment I can get. If you have any suspects who would benefit from working with me, please steer them my way.

Da Coach's Blog  Read my latest ramblings on my blog, featuring my rock show bio, then post your comments.

Contribution  Since I started coaching in 1992, a portion of the proceeds I make every month go to Maryville Academy, Chicagoland's largest youth center. I want to do my small part to support some kids who might not otherwise have a chance to make it.
