An Executive Order ending Birthright Citizenship by the Trump Administration is unconstitutional and violates the 14th Amendment.
New York, NY-- Today at 2:00 PM, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez and Council Member Carlos Menchaca will hold a press conference to denounce President Trump's blatant disregard of our U.S. Constitution. An Executive Order to end birthright citizenship cannot amend the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which clearly states that all persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens of this country. Our constitutional rights are under attack once again by our President. New York City will always stand for the immigrants and citizens in our city.
