Cultivating collaborative opportunities and climate change adaptation partnerships
The 46th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 46) reviewed the progress made under the NWP, and recognized the programme's vital role in facilitating knowledge-sharing and adaptation action coordination. SBSTA 46 requested the secretariat to further engage Parties, NWP partners and other groups, especially in ways that complement the Focal Point Forum and advance the Sustainable Development Goals. SBSTA 46 outcomes can be found here.

Healthy and climate-resilient ecosystems help you adapt
The NWP convened a side event in May 2017 with the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) and members of Friends of EbA (FEBA). The event focused on healthy ecosystems' role in climate change adaptation. It also connected the expertise of NWP partners and other expert groups with the needs of developing countries to integrate ecosystem-based adaptation in their national adaptation plans. See how healthy ecosystems contribute to climate change adaptation here.

Catalyzing action through knowledge at ICLEI's Resilient Cities 2017
As the scientific community continues to expand the knowledge on the climate vulnerability and resilience of the world's inhabited areas, several questions remain: Where do we need more knowledge? Is existing knowledge sufficiently accessible and actionable? How can we better coordinate knowledge generation and application? In collaboration with ICLEI, the NWP delivered an event to identify these knowledge challenges. Download the event's proceedings here.

New UN platform for indigenous peoples and local communities
Indigenous peoples and local communities are often at immediate exposure to the impacts of climate change, and serve as knowledge repository of climate actions. Following a COP21 decision, a multi-stakeholder dialogue focused on establishing a platform to engage indigenous peoples and local communities in exchanging experiences and sharing best practices. Join the conversation on how to better communicate high-quality research
The Global Development Network invites you to contribute brief articles to their new blog GlobalDev. The blog expects its authors to identify a development challenge and illustrate how their or others' research helps address the issue. GlobalDev has selected "Human Settlements and Adaptation" as one of the themes to align with the current development debates and discussions to be held under the NWP at COP23, and invites NWP partners' to submit articles. For more information, please contact Arianna Flores Corral ( [email protected]) .
