Dear Colleagues and Partners,
Greetings from the Adaptation Programme at the UNFCCC secretariat! First, a warm thank you for your continued engagement, including during the recent Bonn Climate Change Conference and review of the adaptation knowledge hub, the Nairobi work programme (NWP). Country delegates recognized the unique ability of the NWP to respond to emerging adaptation knowledge need by connecting relevant partners - you - to UNFCCC Parties and bodies. Parties renewed NWP's mandate to serve as a "knowledge-for-action hub for adaptation and resilience". Another highlight in engaging expert knowledge from the May subsidiary body meetings included progress on the Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform (LCIPP). The LCIPP will enhance knowledge exchange, capacity for engagement, and policy coherence between Parties and local communities and indigenous peoples on climate change mitigation and adaptation. I hope that this edition of the eUpdate will provide some inspiring ideas for how your organization can get involved in the coming months. We look forward to building on the momentum gained to narrow knowledge gaps that hinder adaptation action together. Youssef Nassef Director, Adaptation UNFCCC

Check out how you can help bridge knowledge gaps
The NWP invites you to help close climate adaptation knowledge gaps identified under the Lima Adaptation Knowledge Initiative (LAKI) in six global subregions. These knowledge gaps span across sectors, including water, agriculture, coastal area, health, and ecosystems. Gaps exist due to absence of knowledge or lack of access to locally useable knowledge products. Contact the secretariat to make an action pledge, or to discuss partnership opportunities to bring the LAKI to your subregion.

How to better integrate human settlements in climate adaptation?
Parties and NWP partner organizations gathered during the Bonn Climate Change Conference to discuss opportunities to better integrate human settlements in climate adaptation actions, including national adaptation planning. The event built on a year of discussions and reports on the topic and generated a series of next steps and actions pledges with NWP partners. Click the link for more information including a brief video interview with panelists and the webcast recording of the event.

Explore NWP's renewed role as the knowledge-for-action hub and ways forward
Country delegates renewed the mandate of the NWP last month, welcoming progress made and requesting the secretariat to continue in a coherent manner to:
- Engage with partners to produce useable knowledge products, including for National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and adaptation actions at all levels;
- Implement the next phase of the Lima Adaptation Knowledge Initiative;
- Expand work on key themes in addition to monitoring tools and assessment methods;
- Organize the 12th Focal Point Forum with a focus on Economic Diversification.

Progress on the local communities and indigenous peoples platform
The first activity of the platform, a multi-stakeholder workshop, brought together more than one hundred delegates from Parties, representatives of local communities and indigenous peoples, and other interested stakeholders. The group, along with remote participants, discussed how to best implement the functions of the platform: knowledge, capacity for engagement, and policy coherence.
